IPv4 and IPv6 Interoperability Framework for Mobile Cloud Computing Networks Deployment

چکیده
Cloud computing and IPv6 are among two of the most prominent trends impacting the IT industry. In order to fully use heterogeneous network resources, there is a need to design a network where all resources can interconnect in cloud computing deployment. At present, IPv4 networks are still dominant and IPv6 is the next internet protocol that is being adopted. In cloud computing deployment, IPv6 is the solution for mobility and is seen to have a good impact in cloud computing network deployment. Due to the difficulty associated with upgrading the entire Internet backbone to support IPv6 it is easy to upgrade routers in the access network and allow for the greater benefits of IPv6 than to upgrade all routers in the Internet backbone network. To integrate both IPv4 and IPv6 interoperability for cloud computing there is a need of Translation Protocol and Tunneling mechanisms. In this paper, we proposed an IPv4 and IPv6 interoperability framework for cloud computing deployment.

Impact of IPv4-IPv6 Coexistence in Cloud Virtualization Environment
Since January 2011, IPv4 address space has exhausted and IPv6 is taking up the place as successor. Coexistence of IPv4 and IPv6 bears problem of incompatibility, as IPv6 and IPv4 headers are different from each other, thus, cannot interoperate with each other directly. The IPv6 transitioning techniques are still not mature, causing hindrance in the deployment of IPv6 and development of next gen...
متن کاملGlobal Mobile IPv6 Addressing Using Transition Mechanisms
The adoption of the Internet Protocol in mobile and wireless technologies has considerably increased the number of hosts that can potentially access the global Internet. IPv6 is considered the long term solution for the IPv4 address shortage problem, but the transition from IPv4 to IPv6 is supposed to be very gradual. Therefore, there will be a long time during which both protocol versions will...

IPv6 is of considerable importance to businesses, consumers, and network access providers of all sizes. IPv6 is designed to improve upon IPv4's scalability, security, ease-of-configuration, and network management; these issues are central to the competitiveness and performance of all types of network-dependent businesses. IPv6 aims to preserve existing investment as much as possible. End users,...
متن کاملThe Internet of Everything through IPv6: An Analysis of Challenges, Solutions and Opportunities
The public IPv4 address space managed by IANA (http://www.iana.org) has been completely depleted by Feb 1st, 2011. This creates by itself an interesting challenge when adding new things and enabling new services on the Internet. Without public IP addresses, the Internet of Things capabilities would be greatly reduced. Most discussions about IoT have been based on the illusionary assumption that...
متن کاملMeasuring Cellular IPv6 Networks for Web Performance
The growing numbers of mobile users challenge cellular network scalability. The IPv4 address space is not sufficiently large to uniquely identify all active network devices, while at the same time network address translation (NAT) middleboxes used to extend the IPv4 address space introduce performance overheads. Therefore, ISPs have started to adopt IPv6 addressing to provide Internet services ...
